The Moonlit Strays Released New Song ‘Cocaine and Rhinestones’
The Moonlit Strays’ latest song ‘Cocaine and Rhinestones’, features guest vocalist and songwriter Elks de Joule and promises listeners will be “grooving until the sunrise.” With its tale of a wandering musician who finds solace on the road and on stage, ‘Cocaine & Rhinestones’ offers a novel perspective on the life-on-the-road ballad.
The song was co-written by New York singer/songwriter Elks de Joule and is the group’s first to include a guest vocalist, providing a distinctive contrast to lead singer Chloe Gifkins’ vocals. With the crackle of vinyl records and ominous, sweeping guitars, the two harmonize to tell the late-night story of an unnamed singer and his life of “dive bars and desert nights.” When the chorus begins, the song envelops the listener in neon lights, vintage piano keys that have been soaked in whiskey, and the stomping left and right of boots.
