Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Henry Behave wears every possible hat on The Perfect Answer. Released on January 1, 2026, the project is the result of years of tinkering, layering, and sound-hoarding, all carried out inside Henry Eveleth’s apartment studio. The payoff is a compact but immersive listen that pulls from art-pop, psych, indie rock, and ambient traditions and performs as one restless mind following curiosity wherever it leads.
The EP opens with “0123,” a brief instrumental that exhales before the plunge. Soft, warm chord progressions churn slowly under steady, unshowy beats, setting the tone in just over a minute. It’s subtle but effective, easing the listener into Henry’s world of texture-first storytelling. From there, “The Perfect Answer” unfurls with a trickling rhythm and buoyant guitar chords that seem to hover rather than land. Henry’s light, breathy vocal delivery glides across the track, relaxed and intimate, as if he’s thinking out loud. The song balances clarity and haze beautifully, hinting at Radiohead-style introspection with a pop instinct that keeps it grounded.
Later on, “Cream Cheese” shifts the mood entirely. It opens with a playful, gleaming riff that feels almost mischievous before spiraling outward into something more experimental. Rhythms bloom and fracture, the arrangement grows busier, and Henry’s voice fades into murmurs, becoming another texture in the mix rather than the focal point. This track rewards repeat listens, revealing new details each time.
Throughout The Perfect Answer, layered guitars, stitched-together drum samples, and unexpected found sounds quietly shape the atmosphere. This EP scratches that hard-to-name itch—hypnotic, thoughtful, and confidently DIY—showing Henry Behave as an artist fully in control of his own strange, satisfying universe.
