TOTAL LOVE by indifferentMonKeY: Review

Feel the buzz cranking up your bones with “TOTAL LOVE” by indifferentMonKeY. The band has released their latest contagious gem gushing in Alternative Gospel Rock this March 1.

“TOTAL LOVE” has intriguing instrumentation that gets you head-nodding with minimal but highly effective touches. It builds around the sharp beats that cut with their edges as they rise with every build-up. It ends up sounding super tribal and edgy. It’s exactly what you expect from trip-hop and exactly what I love about the genre.

Embodying the entrancement is the frontwoman, Ellie Knowles. She will make you weak in the knees with that irresistible and sexy voice. As the beats bang up and clang, her voice enters “TOTAL LOVE” with sultry and mysterious chants whispered so delicately that you can hear her lips move. It’s breathy and spine-tingling. With the glitches getting you piqued, she swoons you and softens those sonic snares. There is richness and softness in the darkness of which she sings. It’s like the devil wore the halo and presented to you total love and devotion. The refrain, multiplied four times over, really works like a hypnotic manifestation that ends up curdling in your blood and leaving you breathless with desire. It’s perfect.

As for the verses, songwriter and producer Joe Lowe got his genius up again. He got me raising my brows with the holiest and the sultriest diction mixed in his masterful lyrics, especially with the line, “Jesus charges by the hour.” That was deviously impressive. No matter how you take it, it really does leave you provoked in feelings and much more.
