Two Little Acorns by The Banquets: Review
The Banquets have composed a colorful indie track entitled “Two Little Acorns”. It has some of the cleanest guitar and bass tracks, I’ve heard in a while, and it sounds quite wholesome. There’s some shaker involved in the instrumentation, which all in all adds to a perfectly soothing intro.
When the singer’s voice enters the mix I absolutely knew it was gonna be an enriching experience. It’s a bit of country and a bit of indie too. The percussions are quite minimal but have a very pleasant feel to them. Also, the transitions are simple and heartfelt. The bass parts are groovy, deep, and add a fine personality to the track. About the singer’s tone, it is quite soothing and I truly enjoyed the sway and lyrical expressions of the artist.
There are some guitar fillers that are nice to hear, and they didn’t try to do anything extra and kept the song’s instrumentation with proper balance. In the chorus, a duet harmony was produced and it feels complete to hear. Overall, the track is quite emotional and passionate and you can truly feel that in the artist’s voice The music video is just too cute, and it’ll warm your heart. The interlude in the track is very smooth and has incredible guitar work. Gem the lead singer and songwriter wrote “Two Little Acorns” to honor her father. He, unfortunately, passed away due to a brain tumor, how tragic. Gem wrote “Two Little Acorns” dedicating it to her Dad, who used to call her and her sister by the same name as the song. Very touching indeed!
