Waiting So Long by StarAV: Review
StarAV brings forth their sword of honor with a melody full of valor and emotion in their cover track “Waiting So Long” originally by Silver Fins. I would just like to say that aside from my immense passion for music and writing, I’m also a fervent anime enthusiast. “Beserk” is an iconic and gritty masterpiece of the anime realm, and Silver Fins’ track served as the outro for their 1997 series. It was indeed a tragic day in the anime community when hearing about the passing of Kentaro Miura who was the creator of Beserk. May you rest in peace Miura San, you shall be deeply remembered! Thus, StarAV’s hauntingly beautiful rendition of “Waiting So Long” feels like an incredible tribute to the late artist, and to the original band as well.
With some cinematic symphonies, and a hollowed tone of the guitar StarAV’s enchanting vocals captivate us with a sense of melancholy, and strong sentiment. The harmonious arrangement of the vocals, with the high and low ones doing perfect synchronization and the percussion accompaniment, all feel like a musical masterpiece.
StarAV really did justice to the original song with its cover. The symphonic elements, which sound like cellos and violins mixed together has this dark and ominous tone that will surely give you chills and all the while make you feel like an actual person who was indeed “Waiting So Long”. Overall, it’s a remarkable song and the depth of the vocals, and the fantastic efforts put into the instrumentation make it a deep reflection of the Anime’s worth, and StarAV’s talents.
