Wake Up by iHATEJON: Review
iHATEJON’s “Wake Up” begins with a pensive entrance that is propelled by guitar and piano and shimmers in the moonlight. You won’t have any trouble getting down to the beat once the song starts off with a verse. It’s a phenomenal example of indie music with a major emphasis on bass and guitar. He truly does have a way with words, and the rhythm with which he flows is outstanding.
The singer’s manner and delicacy are so majestic that they are almost elegant and classy. This is one of those songs that you can’t help but play on a road trip when you just want to think and be yourself. The song “Wake Up” possesses all of the elements that are necessary for creating a classic indie track. Both the instrumental and vocal elements of the song are potent and meaningful. The very essence of this track just oozes personality, and it possesses musical characteristics that will cause you to think while you jam to the song. The following guitar solo is incredibly silky smooth, and it will inexorably lead you to infinity if you let it.
iHATEJON is a musician and composer from North Carolina, and his work draws from a broad variety of sources, from soul and blues to current emo rap and beyond. The song “Wake Up” is a dark yet pleasant fusion of indie rock/pop and alternative hip hop. Check out the track, as it’s available for streaming!
