Whisper In the Dark By Sophie Dorsten and Alex Dorsten: Review
โWhisper In The Darkโ is a song written and performed by the siblings duo, Sophie and Alex Dorsten. Sophie writes the lyrics, and Alex is responsible for composing the music. They both play the guitar when they perform, but Alex is a multi-talented musician who can also play the kick drum with one foot and the tambourine with the other.
The song starts off with a beautiful dreamy vocal along with a pristine acoustic guitar. The vocal and the acoustic guitar start slow and then the song transitions into mellow kick drums and tambourines. It is a nostalgic track that will take you back to the Dylan and Joplin days with a hint of Florence+The Machine. The chorus in it is very catchy and well composed. Fun fact: Alexโs guitar in this track was a 1965 Gibson J200, which was played by legendary Jimmy Page on a Led Zeppelin album.
The lyrics talk about a toxic and manipulative person who is always around us only to use us for their own benefit- something we all have or will experience during our existence on earth. The song was recorded in RAK Studio in London and finished in Arizona. Adam Mills helped with the production, and Alex finished it along with mixing and mastering. The pristine production quality combined with the universally relevant theme take the song to a new height.
