SugarCoated by Tarn PK: EP Review
Tarn PK fills the air with a fresh sound filled with synth-pop and indietronica on their EP entitled “SugarCoated”. Surrounding the musical compositions with an interesting layer of trap beats, bubblegum pop-infused rhythm sections, and the singer’s charm to keep everyone hooked, the EP is a truly solid musical creation.
Tarn PK initiates the EP with “Blunt Force Trauma”, a moody synthesizer-heavy tune filled with a unique vocal production mix. Experiencing the catchy essence of the track, made me value the minimal basslines, and the vibrant melodies. Nearing the end, the track goes into a frenzy with an explosive and experimental tempo with enhanced synth bass sections. From there on, it’s nothing but good vibes and moving to the beats. Later on, “Fever Dream” is an absolute trip with an adventurous singing presence that captivates you entirely. This combined with the magical and fat bass arrangement and you’ve got a recipe for a pop hit. The song feels like an interesting mix of contemporary electronica, and it’s got just the right amount of spice to get you in the dancing shoes for a splendid night out.
The last number on the EP “SugarCoated” is a tasty mix of flavorful rhythms. My favorite bits were the subtle fillers incorporated by the keys. The singer has an elegant force here, mixing fast-paced vocal aspects with slower melodic ones. Being such a colorful indie track, it really has a futuristic appeal that one must experience and get lost in.
