Wonderful by Fish and Scale: EP Review

Fish and Scale aka Roland Wälzlein is a splendid artist with a diverse melodic skill set. After hearing his EP “Wonderful” I was completely hypnotized with the musical abundance. From Pop to smooth jazz, and a little bit of indie-folk as well, this stunning artist shows us a creative edge only few can replicate.
“Stay!” the opening number, is full of grace and cadence. This delightful track embodies the elegance of indie-folk wrapped around gentle acoustic chords. The narrative is also pretty smooth and will keep you engaged for a while. Next up is “Don’t Care” a lovely soft rock number with elements of jazz. Groovy guitar riffs combine with a funky organ, and generate a vibe that’s simply stunning. For all you church or gospel lovers out there, this might be the song for you! Furthermore, we get the emotional side of the EP with the song “Feel.” It’s a sentimental number carried forward by pleasant piano notes and a slow percussion directing the tempo. All in all, quite spectacular to witness!
The title track “Wonderful” is a moving melody that will tug on your heartstrings. It’s a beautiful melody crafted over evocative songwriting and clean piano bits. With that said ladies and gents, don’t forget to check out Fish and Scale’s excellent EP!
