Youth by Julia Sole: Review
Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut single โParanoid Sleepingโ, Dutch singer Loes Bisschop AKA Julia Sole returns with her interesting new offering, โYouthโ. The song is the second track of the upcoming EP and, according to the artist, takes you on a nostalgic journey back in time to the warmth and safety she felt as a younger self. The artist separates herself from situations and the feelings that occur from them, as she frequently does when expressing her emotions, and transforms them into a fictional figure. โYouthโ becomes the lost buddy she had to say goodbye to in order to become a more mature adult.
On the first listen, the song might sound like every other โgood music with a catchy tune,โ but as the song progresses, the music becomes unexpectedly exciting during the second half, with the guitar suddenly picking up pace. The artist begins slowly, with a melancholic undertone, until the song abruptly switches course midway through an explosive guitar solo as her vocals rise, producing a maelstrom of composition and you will find yourself dancing to the music as you tune in.
โYouthโ is a delectable and fabulous song and is one of the finer works delivered by the artist. Cannot wait to hear what her upcoming EP might have in store, with such a bold and distinctive approach to music.
