A Year From Now by Anthony Benjamin: Review

London-based musician Anthony Benjamin brings us a hopeful tune “A Year From Now.” The colorful synth-pop aesthetic of the track and the brilliant catchy essence struck a chord within me and made me look back at 2022 with a heavy heart.
Anthony’s songwriting is refreshing to hear. Hearing his track felt like opening a book of possibilities ready to unveil in this brand-new year. The entirety of the track, from the artist’s voice to the instrumentation just screamed “hope.” Surely there were some more tragic bits, which were also quite charming by the way, but overall the tune had an interesting vibe! The musician has a moving voice that grabs a hold of you, this melodic embrace is tough to escape and quite a delicate experience to have. From a lyrical standpoint, Anthony’s ode is quite sentimental. Talking about the chaos of the world we live in, and how our consciousness can reach a tipping point is gripping human emotion put into song.
Each instrumental section of “A Year From Now” was simply delightful. Majorly synth-based and with light piano segments, the track’s vibrant appeal stands out. The drum patterns follow a steady tempo that is easy to hear! With some frequent guitar bits here and there, the song sounds completely fresh indeed. Above all else, my favorite sections were the chorus and the main instrumental hooks that mimic the voice a bit.
