Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy is in Helloween’s official music video for “Best Time.”
HELLOWEEN’s stunning self-titled studio album was released in June 2021. The record was a smash hit with fans and critics alike, reaching No. 1 in Germany and Spain, the Top 5 in seven countries, and the Top 15 many times throughout the world.
HELLOWEEN celebrates with fans once more today with the release of a video for “Best Time.” The single, which serves as the album’s party song, has been streamed over four million times on Spotify. The cheerful song, written by Sascha Gerstner and Andi Deris, spreads hope and positivity.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery / I will have the best time of my life / Yes, I know I’m gonna be alright / I’m feeling better in the neon light…”
“I had a ’80s neo noir sense in my thoughts,” Gerstner explains. The riff started off as a synth riff, which we later reworked for guitars. I came up with the phrase “I shall have the finest time of my life” on the spur of the moment because I had a strong desire to put the past behind and grasp the day! Andi was immediately smitten by the concept as well as the refrain, and the two of us collaborated to produce the current track!”
“Best Time” is a visually appealing 3D road movie directed by Martin Häusler, who also directed the band’s “Skyfall” video. It features live footage of the band as well as a cameo appearance by Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz. “After playing many festivals and travelling extensively around South America together a few years ago, HELLOWEEN and I decided to film a fun movie to remember about the wonderful times while concurrently planning for many more!” says White-Gluz.
On May 20th, Atomic Fire published the band’s special “Best Time” vinyl single. The album, which is limited to 2000 copies, contains fantastic ’80s throwback artwork by cartoonist and HELLOWEEN enthusiast Marcos Moura and comes in three color versions. Aside from the title track “Best Time,” the album includes an alternate, unique vocal mix from HELLOWEEN’s longtime producer Charlie Bauerfeind’s studio.
Atomic Fire Records has pink vinyl available HERE, Pumpkins Store has white/purple marbled vinyl HERE, and EMP has white/blue marbled vinyl HERE.
