As a Parent by Isaiah Mclaughlin: Review
Emotion and darkness all wrapped around an eargasmic techno track. “As a Parent” by solo musician Isaiah Mclaughlin is a rhythmic song that makes you truly think about the tale he speaks of, and listen to the music that accompanies it.
Through the music only, I imagined myself meeting some Overlord in a different cyberpunk Universe that resembles earth. The production value is truly unique, and quite energetic I must say. It’s very cool that Isaiah himself sang, composed, and produced As a Parent, as well as every other song he released. His lyrical themes seem to have centered around abuse, and the trauma faced by people who go through it. This is indeed a matter of importance because those individuals in pain need support as much as they can. Isaiah, through his music it seems, is trying to bring these matters to attention so that a heartwarming solution may arise. Way to go, man!
Isaiah’s main inspirations are Michael Jackson and Prince, two of the most notable names in music history. Even though their souls have departed, their musical inspiration has left a strong sense of encouragement in all of us. Thus, Isaiah seems to have taken the expressive nature of their music and translated it into his own musical language. Beautiful stuff indeed. Please have a listen to “As a Parent” over on Spotify! It is indeed a captivating performance by Isaiah, and his voice will tell a tale that needs to be said and heard.
