AURORA Debuts “The Woman I Am” Live at Vevo Studio. The song will be included in the deluxe edition of ‘The Gods We Can Touch.’
AURORA has released “The Woman I Am,” a sparkling new track that debuted as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World.
The song will be included in a special deluxe edition of the critically renowned Norwegian pop star’s album The Gods We Can Touch.
AURORA described the release as a “homage to feminine divinity.” “As a woman, finding your place in this world created for men isn’t always simple. To discover yourself. To understand that you are a source of life, power, craftsmanship, thought, and love. Not just a ship. You are not here to please others; you are here to please yourself.
“There is a lady who is worthy of this world, even beyond your body, beauty, brains, and accomplishments; believe in her.” And with every breath you take, remember her worth. Then perhaps one day the globe will be at peace. Also, equilibrium. But only in equality’s arms.”
The Gods We Can Touch was the third most-streamed album on Spotify when it was released, and it reached No. 8 on the Official UK Album Chart, becoming the singer’s first Top 10 album in the country.
NME praised the album, calling it “a record that seizes the opportunity to take on the world and battle with all her might.” AURORA was “beautiful, undeviating, and simultaneously in eight locations at once,” according to Under The Radar.
The singer released a video for her track “Temporary High” in January, in which she stood in front of a spotlight in a sea of people looking for love. The time-sensitivity of the lyrical subject was matched by a repeated visual of the singer watching the sand pour from an hourglass.
