Babylon Burn by Iam Nothe: Review
Following the release of his previous single, Lord You Are The Cure, Spyreas Sid’s solo outfit Iam Nothe releases his second single named Babylon Burn from the upcoming dabut album, The Grand Design.
Exploring the mysticism that is behind the concept of the civilization of Babylon, Iam Nothe takes the listeners into an existential spiral of the myths and legends. Using the imageries of the sinful peak and devastating fall of the civilization, he makes a striking comparison with our contemporary world. With the poetic and philosophical visualization of Babylon combined with a storytelling narrative and a dynamic song-writing, the song seems to be shaped up to be the star track of the album in my opinion. But often with the singles released prior to the album, they only give a glimpse of the album and the artist saves the best one for last to be released in the album.
The song slowly builds up starting with an enchanting beat and synth backed up with a vocal that perfectly captures the mysticism of the myths of the ancient civilization. As the song progresses fuzzy guitar riffs and heavy overdrive gets added to the mix with power metal vocals. The song also features Mediterranean synth grooves that highlight the theme of the narrative. With an ascending instrumental arrangement, the song slowly builds up to an explosive sound that completely takes you in. A wonderful mix of myth, mystique, and the explosive nature of rock n roll. A perfect addition to your power metal or rock playlist.
