Sometimes you need a song to accompany your immersive, deep-focus sessions. ‘Bathe’ by Jaxsen can help you zoom out of your comfort zone with its zooming lo-fi instrumentals of synth wave, percussion, and a flat voice representing the aftermath of the despondent feeling of defeat after all’s been said and done after a breakup.

Jaxsen is a rising alternative indie pop musician in the industry with his unique tone. He has explored different sounds to get to his new single, ‘Bathe,’ which is yet another fruition of his many explorations.

Jaxsen produces a paradox alongside the spacy scenario teeming with transcendent tranquility he creates in our minds. This paradox draws a strange metaphor from the clear skin of his former partner, which he mistook for clear vibes. The paradox is finally understood when, in the chorus, he mentions bathing them away by cleaning his pores of their grimes and their dirt. Now we may ask why he would have to clean himself to bathe them away. The answer’s as clear as day: they stole his body and his soul! Now he sings of reclaiming what’s his.

The pre-chorus leading up to the chorus is more fast-paced than the first verse as he remembers what they did to him, which in turn reinvigorates his anger, and thus we hear synth waves colliding and jumping in the back.

Released on the 3rd of March, “Bathe” is a melancholic and immersive track that comes with a jumpy synth wave representing celestial collusion or stars colliding against each other as the guitar strings continue to add depth to the folds of the music.
