Bending Grid released a new track ‘Activate’
Rapper Honey-B-Sweet and vocalist Justin J. Moore both appear on “Love Arcade.” The song cleverly forms its lyrics from references to more than 80 popular 1980s arcade game titles. There are many metaphors and innuendos throughout. A vintage arcade was used to film the music video.
Lexi Johnson is the vocalist on “Activate.” Through the lens of K-Pop and Synthwave fusion, a music video and strong songwriting emphasize how one should activate and get over the pain of psychological scars and resentment. A K-Pop dance team of 8 was employed.
A-“Take Ha’s on me” served as inspiration for the “Kool Nites” music video. A character by the name of Aurora unwittingly becomes trapped inside a supernatural VHS tape that transports her from the real world into a cyberpunk-style future cartoon, anime, or manga. She needs to act quickly to find a way to get back to where she came from. Or was everything merely a dream? The three main songs on the EP are “Love Arcade,” “Activate,” and “Kool Nites,” each of which has a corresponding music video. Additionally, two exclusive remixes of the songs “Activate” and “Kool Nites” are included.
From Summerville, South Carolina, Bending Grid is a self-employed electronic musician who specializes in the synthwave and popwave subgenres. In 2021, he came across synthwave and was so inspired that he decided to get involved. His creative use of music, lyrics, and visual storytelling is sure to enthrall viewers.
