Revolution around the sun by June Magnolia: Review
‘Revolution around the sun’ is a hauntingly beautiful song from the folk band ‘june Magnolia’s’ latest album ‘Memory Palace’. The band has recently stated that each song in the album is like a place in the mind. Revolution around the sun certainly fits that criteria.
The song starts with a piano passage almost nostalgic and very much memory-like. Julia Mcgarrity’s haunting voice comes next and captures the listeners’ imagination. The song is full of nostalgic piano works that give the song its character. Alex Milsted on synth has done a fantastic job in the song as well. Tim Sweeny on bass did some intricate work and Sacha Muller on drums kept the song tight and to the point.
Imagine yourself as earth revolving around the sun in an endless loop, beyond earthly boundaries, a celestial being- this is the feeling you will get listening to this song. The song ends with an instrumental section with heavy drum beats, orchestra, and climactic piano works making you feel like thousand of memories flashing by in your mind.
The band has been playing live in major venues around the country. The album ‘Memory Palace’ was recorded at Aunt Thelma’s studio and mastered by legendary Dana White.
