Black Fuchsia drops groovy song ‘Nasty’
American Hip Hop duo Black Fuchsia, who are recording artists with Blank States, release their first EP titled ‘Cotton’. The EP demonstrates the duo’s readiness to investigate sonic narration in a fusion of the ambient dance and rap genres, where rap is consistently reinvented and subdivided. The four-track album includes their most well-known song, ‘Nasty’, which emphasizes the traditional elements of urban hip-hop, preferring to emphasize jarring flows, metered lyrics, and a loose, fluid delivery over hard-hitting drums and inventive melodies that blend into each instrumental soundscape. Fans of Griselda, Pro Era, and other legendary groups from the area where the genre was first conceived can hear the strong New York influence.
The result of the duo’s initial attempt to write a song that embodied their style and originality and could be ingested by commercial radio without compromising the integrity of the art is ‘Nasty’. It was the first song to benefit from our studio upgrades, which included new plugins and improved analog gear. The original idea persisted even after the verses were dropped, and eventually the idea for ‘Cotton’ was written. When touring, ‘Nasty’ is the EP song that gets the most requests from the audience. Initial press reviews have praised the arrangement the most, and this is something that was carefully taken into account when making the final cut of the mastering process.
