Breakfast for Dinner for Valentin Riera: Review
French-born singer/songwriter Valentin Riera was initially inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, and Charlie Puth before branching out to other genres and styles, such as Daft Punk and the soundtracks of various anime series. While attending Laval University in Quebec, Canada, he was exposed to a wide variety of music, including jazz, progressive rock, and folk, all of which would later find their way into his songs. โBreakfast for Dinnerโ for Valentin Riera is a brilliant track filled with juicy layers of funk, jazz, and all thatโs good about dancing the night away.
Thereโs an abundance of musical sequences in โBreakfast for Dinnerโ. To start with, the singerโs voice has a clean and wonderful aura to it. He also blends daft-punk robotic voices in an effort to create a future-funk melody worth grooving out to. Thereโs always a space in the music biz that allows artists like Valentin Riera to stretch their creative freedom properly. Once you let indie artists take the mic and wing it with everything they got, the result is quite spectacular. Whether itโs disco-style guitar strumming or the popping bass line, the song is like the wind of melodies that hit and spark you with an effortless movement of funk.
Nearing the end of the track arrives a jazz train so buttery smooth you could slide in it. Iโm talking about the fast-paced piano solo, which is like icing on the cake. Hats off to the playing style and blues-inspired arrangement!
