Catโs Paw by What Strange Beasts: Review
The music of What Strange Beasts is a flavorful mix of high-energy rock and psychedelic melodies. Their track โCatโs Pawโ is filled with trippy segments coming alive through the electric guitar, and commanding vocal pieces that keep you glued to the bandโs resonating sound.
Upon hearing โCatโs Pawโ I kept an open mind and was immensely delighted. The track is simply in your face and doesnโt waste one minute with the fast-paced intensity. Since there is an abundance of tones available to configure anyoneโs trusty guitar, I try to take notice of anything unique. Thus, the clean guitar bits had an interesting phase that make it sound like it was from outer space emanating from them. As for the distortion bits, itโs not quite metal, but more like a hybrid rock. Epically tied to the confidence of the vocalist, the instrumentation is catchy and provides a remarkable atmosphere to get lost in.
The songwriting style of What Strange Beasts is fairly imaginative. Involving themes of space, and relative subjects, their musical expedition is quite thrilling to hear. Moving on to the solo sequences, which were experimental and settled with a nice progressive accompaniment. Two solos, one from the keys and the other with the guitar intertwine for a spectacular interstellar vibe. Since What Strange Beasts also delves in deep with a heavy prog sound. Their themes and tones pertain to a more modern appeal while following their own take on the genre.
