Christmas Time by NiNi Bong: Review
A classic Christmas song that takes us back to childhood Christmas memories. This song is no less than freshly baked Christmas cookies. It has all the elements of a truly British Christmas–enjoying the cozy Christmas eve with a bunch of close friends and family, mulled wine, and mince pies as good as it can get.
The song also has another side to it, which is bringing the child out of you. Growing up you sometimes forget to acknowledge your inner innocence. We all have a child in us, this song takes you on a trip of nostalgia where everything seems beautiful and happy. Maybe you want to wait for Christmas presents too or meet pleasureful guilt with desserts.
It is a British Christmas pop song sprinkled with minor and diminished chords enhancing the warm Chris fuzzy feeling. There is the usage of synthesizers, synth-pop music, and other electronic instruments. The music has a warm groove to it which surely takes the audience to memory land.
Childhood friends, Jon and David from sharing lunchboxes to making music had a long journey. They spent many years together writing and performing in various bands and collaborated on a wide range of TV and film soundtracks. Upon coming across Pat, Julia, and Gabrielle who share a similar outlook, together joined a musical project “NiNi Bong” They bring out the flavors of classic 1980s’ through their music.
