CODE by Amanda Holley: Review

Amanda Holley takes us on a journey from the streets of Downtown Los Angeles to The Color Crib and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, where she performs her profoundly original, thought-provoking, and mighty track titled “CODE,” where she sings an anthem of liberation and enlightenment over violence in all its forms. An honest, inspirational collaboration with Current Billboard Charting co-writers Davis Chris & Cecily Wagner, this urban trap pop song reveals her heart and mind.
“CODE” is what I would like to call a mix between trap beats, and an electrifying jam that will energize your very soul. Amanda shows her skills as a singer, also with a solid flow with some rapping. Her take on “CODE” is also on the lines of RnB, and it is packed with a tornado of rhythm mastery. The track’s structure is mostly focused on Amanda’s voice, while the instrumentation has a synthesizer mix and electronic beats. The bassline is catchy and has a bouncy tone that goes perfectly with the track. In parts where the percussion isn’t playing, Amanda’s voice is highlighted even more. In these moments, she makes sure that the listeners get a taste of her lit vocal attributes.
If you’re in need of empowerment, and a powerful number to jolt you into a desirable then “CODE” is the perfect track to vibe with. Amanda’s vibrato technique incorporated in her singing is simply incredible. She really has a way that veteran artists only possess, and Amanda has truly shown the same amount of class and finesse.
