Dead End by Sinikka Monte: Review
Listening to “Dead End” by Sinikka Monte made my jaw drop and I realized that there’s a new melodic queen in town who’s got the guts of Billie Eilish but in a more sultry tone.
What an original, bold, and rich sound! I had no idea something so deep in undertone and gritty could hold onto such an eclectic pop sound before! The song is about a relationship’s dead end, which could have bloomed into something beautiful. Personally, I’m intrigued by the way the track ends; it’s got that modern twist of slowed and reverbed taste that’s all the hype these days. It certainly has the potential to break out and go viral! I know it would call out to my girls out there who’ve had a bitter ending to the sweetest of affairs!
After learning about the artist, I found that Sinikka and I have two things in common: Labrinth and Ariana Grande! When these two artists are her inspiration, there’s no doubt that her musical career has to be euphoric! Besides that, she‘s also influenced by Madison Beer, which I can totally hear in her sound as she keeps it raw and honest in the way she pours her heart into the lines “I’m terrified of loving you a second time”. This 20-year-old singer-songwriter is here to score big within the music industry with her sincere lyrics, an energy of modern pop-rock, and a seductively honeyed voice that you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. So, be sure to tune into “Dead End” along with Sinikka’s debut release “It Ain’t You”.
