Sherwøød’s “Dear B” is what happens when lo-fi heartbreak and alt-pop soul-searching collide in a cloud of late-night overthinking. The track kicks off with gentle, glimmering piano keys, immediately setting that 2 a.m., staring-at-the-ceiling mood. Then his voice drops in, deep, raw, almost too honest. “Dear B” is a voice note you were never meant to hear, except it’s produced just right: minimal, airy, and full of emotional weight.
His rapping is understated but piercing, simple but packed with lyrical gut punches (“I reek of sex and empathy”). It’s vulnerable and poetic. Then that chorus hits—smooth, melodic, a little bruised—and suddenly you’re singing along like it’s your own letter to an ex you swore you were over. It’s catchy, like something you hum during a breakup movie montage without realizing it’s already living rent-free in your brain.
The bridge pulses with urgency, quickening like spiraling thoughts, and the guitar strumming adds just enough shimmer to keep you afloat while the lyrics drag you deep into some feelings you probably weren’t ready to feel today. His voice cracks and pleads and sighs, and honestly, it’s satisfying in the way only a truly well-written cry track can be. You feel every word like it was scratched onto notebook paper and tucked in a drawer no one was supposed to find.
Blending alt, hip-hop, R&B, and indie influences, Sherwøød is for all of us to cry to. Check it out on Spotify.
