Brosie releases the indie-pop anthem, “Death of the Party” for the social misfits who find themselves awry at parties and social gatherings.
From the moment the song begins, you’re drawn in by reflective lines narrating the all-too-familiar scenario of reluctantly attending a party. Over thumping drums and catchy guitar riffs, Brosie paints a vivid picture of the scene.
The song blasts with explosive guitar riffs as the singer sings the chorus, energetically declaring herself to be “the death of the party/The killer of the night.” But amidst the chaos of the party, Brosie unleashes the coming verses, narrating how she finds herself feeling out of place, unable to break the ice and join in on the festivities.
What makes “Death of the Party” so relatable is its authenticity. Brosie doesn’t shy away from embracing her insecurities and vulnerabilities. The song is relatable to a lot of us insecure introverts who are high on FOMO when uninvited, then end up as amusing cardboard pieces when we are lucky—or unlucky enough— to be in one. With catchy hooks, “Death of the Party” is an anthem for all those who have put themselves in uncomfortable, overhyped situations only to realize that the occasions didn’t live up to the hype.
“Death of the Party” is only the second single from her upcoming EP, Waiting to be Discovered, slated for release this very September 20. So stay tuned and mark your calendars as you keep jamming and embracing your imperfect self.
