Diane Mathis Releases Funky Soul Song “Welcome Back Home”
Diane Mathis, a contemporary musical powerhouse, has released a new single called “Welcome Back Home,” and it’s a lovely R&B anthem with that vintage 80s soul vibe. True to its title, “Welcome Back Home” deconstructs the conflicting emotions of hoping against hope that one’s true love will return and the crushing realization that they never will. The instrumental was written and recorded expertly by Anthony Walker and DuWayne Smith, with whom Diane collaborated.
Diane Mathis grew up in the historic Motor City, of Detroit. Diane’s undying love for music and singing was on full display at a fashion event in Detroit’s 20 Grand Driftwood Lounge when she was just 8 years old and gave a stunning performance. Diane’s career spans a wide range of accomplishments, from joining a girl group at age 15 to signing with Capitol Records and releasing two releases (‘How Does It Feel’ and ‘Love Is All Around’) as a solo artist to singing background vocals for such famous performers as Issac Hayes, Donald Byrd, David Ruffin, and Denise Williams. Diane’s excellent talents have been further proven to by her participation in two award-winning Detroit Gospel Choirs, The Motown Legends Choir and The Gospel Truth, in which she performed for global figure Oprah Winfrey.
“Welcome Back Home” is an emotional and passionate melody crafted by Diane’s sweet voice. Her poetic aura is evident in this piece, and the soulful rhythm is such a vibe to hear. If you’re interested, check it out here!
