Dreaming by Samantha Knight: Review
Solo performer Samantha Knight’s soothing track “Dreaming” is perfect for a winter evening. Melodically crisp, the track encompasses a soft acoustic piece with the musician’s voice keeping us company.
The ebb and flow of “Dreaming” is quite heartwarming. Truly, the singer pours her soul into each sequence. With a natural sway in her voice, the scale perfectly fits the cadence of the acoustic rhythms and blends perfectly with each transition. Eventually, when the orchestral bits enter, the song melody enters a powerful emotional state which is quite delightful to experience. The nature of folk music is strong with Samantha’s melodic expression. I’m moved by this very notion as the main hook of “Dreaming” is pertinent alongside the coziness of icy weather and sheltering oneself by the fire.
According to Samantha, her song “Dreaming” has a sentimental ode. It was inspired by someone she met and spoke with during the gloomy beginnings of the pandemic. They met briefly, and no contact since. The track’s definition is a tragic one, at least I believe so folks. However, through the delightful musical arrangement, we find a soft spot to understand the depth of it all. Aside from the lyrical embodiment, the instrumental portions were quite brilliant. This is especially the case when soft piano notes keep the guitar’s tune more resonant and build upon the strength of the song’s structure. If you’ve ever encountered a similar situation such as Dreaming’s narrative, I’m sure this tune can put you at ease!
