Dress To Please by Official Shannon: Review
โDress To Pleaseโ by Official Shannon starts off with a smooth guitar intro and some percussions. Oh, man! This sounds so groovy and the piano is also a very nice touch! Her vocals are really smooth and have a certain flow to them. The transitions and structures are quite unique and have a very nice combination of chords both major and minor. Official Shannonโs range is also quite soothing and her vibrato skills are off the cards! Overall the song is a mix of Pop and RnB.
I love the way the instruments enter and exit out of a verse, and the chorus sounds really funky. In the second verse a whistle goes out, it sounds really peaceful and has a unique resonance indeed. The piano tone is clean and provides a unique background to the track. What I value in a track is build-up, it could be a build-up to a beat drop, a build-up to a chorus, in this case, Official Shannon really showed a colorful build-up to the latter. Also, the bass track in the song is quite sensational, itโs minimal but is just enough to capture the perfect vibe.
Official Shannon, is a female UK independent artist based in London. Dress To Please is a positive, uplifting summer pop song that was written in response to the troublesome issues of cat-calling, sexual harassment, and other unnecessarily offensive or derogatory comments directed at women on a regular basis. Official Shannonโs high notes in her singing are exceptional, overall this is such as mashing song and I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it and Iโm sure you will too.
