Entre Celulas by Jorge: Album Review
While music does bring people from all corners of the world closer, I think music without lyrics creates the most connection of all. In today’s review, I’m going to talk about an exceptional release that you can tune into Spotify anytime you want!
The new instrumental album “Entre Celulas” by Jorge is a wide spectrum of supersonic waves that fill the air of silence. It will transport you to a different planet, and although these may sound like personal experiments, I think it’s got a universal touch to them. The album is filled with 8 distinctive sounds, from which “Para Onde Ir, Senao Aqui?” is probably my favorite. It’s got so many layers that come in an ascending format, while the percussion kicks off into something transcendental. It’s one of those instrumentals which you’d have to experience first-hand and can’t quite put a pin on. Some of the titles, such as the opening track “Pela Manha” has a more meditative sound, while others are a mishmash of binaural, thumping beats, flying electronic and granular elements. “Olhares Sequenciais” has a more disco-fied rhythm, and then in the last two numbers, you’ll find yourself on a chill night drive, vibing all by yourself.
One thing that’s evident in this album is that Jorge really knows how to take elements from different categories, amp it up a notch and create unique sounds you can’t find from any other instrumental artist right now.
