“Equinox” by Enrage hits like a wrecking ball—loud, relentless, and dripping with raw energy. Released on January 24, 2025, this fiery anthem gives fans a second taste of what’s to come from The Greys, their upcoming album dropping in April. With a sound rooted in thrash, hardcore, and classic metal, Enrage channels the likes of Slayer, Sepultura, and Metallica while carving out their own brutal, no-nonsense identity.
From the opening second, the song rips through the speakers with scorching, distorted riffs, pounding drums, and a bone-crushing intensity that refuses to let up. The guitars are tuned down to drop A—yes, they’re wielding a 7-string for the first time—and the result is pure, unfiltered heaviness. The drums crack like gunfire, keeping the energy at an all-time high, while the bass rumbles like an earthquake beneath the chaos. Then comes the vocal assault—deep, hoarse, and seething with frustration. It’s not just screaming for the sake of aggression; it’s controlled fury, an outlet for the song’s message of resilience and overcoming life’s darkest moments.
Just when you think you’ve settled into the storm, the guitar solo slithers in, wild and unpredictable, cutting through the mayhem with a venomous bite. It’s a catharsis, demanding you to immerse yourself in its intensity. The mix, crafted by guitarist Mike Pelle in his own studio, ensures every punch lands hard, every note feels deliberate, and every ounce of energy is wrung out of the track.
“Equinox” is the sound of a band pushing themselves to new heights, unafraid to experiment yet firmly grounded in their thrash and hardcore roots.
Stay tuned with Enrage for their upcoming album and frighteningly alive live performances.
