โFalling Apartโ by Undergone is a slow-motion implosion wrapped in distortion and heartbreak, echoing from the depths of a dream youโre not quite ready to wake up from. From the moment the track kicks off, youโre swallowed whole by gritty guitars and bustling drums, only to be led deeper by Wiktoria Boreckaโs breathy, echo-laced vocals that glide in like a whisper and rise like a scream. Her voice floats with pain and passion, drenched in reverb, soaring over walls of noise like sheโs crumbling mid-air.
This Polish five-pieceโs โFalling Apartโ feels like My Bloody Valentine met Deftones in a haunted cathedral and made something raw, layered, and devastating. The eerie dreaminess to the soundscape brews a rage โ guitars churning at 2:52 in a noise-fueled solo, with a shoegaze-drenched verse at 3:21 that washes over you like a memory you tried to bury. And when that chorus hits at 2:07? Itโs a full-body experience โ cathartic, crushing, transcendent.
But maybe the most impressive part? They did it all themselves. Every second of sound, every promo post, every cover design โ DIY to the core. And that effortโs paying off fast. โFalling Apartโ pulled in nearly 2,000 streams in its first three days, landed in over 20 music mags, and shot up to #75 on GrooverCharts. Not bad for a band running on pure guts, grief, and guitar pedals.
With their debut live show around the corner and even UK promoters knocking, Undergone is proving that shoegaze isnโt dead โ itโs just been waiting in the fog for the right band to scream through it. And that band might just be these five from Katowice.
