Fast Changing Landscapes by Linebug: Album Review
“Fast Changing Landscapes” is a superb folk-pop album by Danish Duo Line Bøgh and Christian Gundtoft. The two create a masterful melodic fusion under the moniker Linebug. Their melodies are a combination of classical, atmospheric timbres, and gripping folk tales. Altogether, it creates a lovely aura to hear on repeat, so join me as I explore their intriguing album!
The record begins with the self-titled track “Fast Changing Landscapes.” It’s a clean piano hymn that sounds hauntingly beautiful. This is due to its intimate nature and poetic vocals. The next number is more upbeat and accompanies a soothing orchestra, it goes by the name “Sideways.” The track has an infectious pop-style hook and a lovely rhythm that pulls you in each second. This is especially so when the symphonies are in full swing, and the melody grabs hold of you quickly. “Skyline” imbues more of the folk genre through elegant strings and a pretty intriguing storyteller narrative I gotta say. The presence of the harp in “Mermaid” was hypnotic. That expression only elevated when the vocal harmonies joined in, and it was a beautiful timbre to witness.
I’ve had an incredible time hearing Linebug’s album “Fast Changing Landscapes,” and I believe it’s a record the masses will admire. If you’re interested in solid vocal melodies that bring along the grace and finesse of classical instruments, then please give Linebug’s a go. They’re a truly special act!
