The Savage Hearts is going all in, unapologetic, with their latest single, “Gang War/Speed Kills.” Released on February 26th under the Irish indie record label, Blowtorch Records, the single gets raw and punchy with alternative and garage rock dipped in punk and psych.
Comprised of Darragh Muldoon, Evan Walsh, Terry Brady, Eugenio Collinassi, Emil Kapusta, and Becky Walsh, The Savage Hearts brings a diverse range of musical talents to the table.
“Gang War” kicks off the single with an onslaught of pounding drums and blazing guitars. Lead vocalist Darragh Muldoon delivers fierce and energetic vocals, painting a vivid picture of a once vibrant dancefloor turned battleground. With lyrics depicting friends turned enemies and a world consumed by competition, the song exudes a visceral intensity that grabs hold of you from the very first note and keeps you jamming, with you busting the brakes on “Speed Kills.”
“Speed Kills” continues the high-octane energy with engaging guitar riffs, thumping drums, and deep, gnarled vocals. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a rebellious girl who’s the talk of the town with her defiant attitude and unapologetic lifestyle. Becky Walsh on backing vocals creates a sense of camaraderie with her soulful yet vivacious voice, singing, “You don’t have a boyfriend/but you don’t care.”
Since their formation in 2022, The Savage Hearts have made waves on the Irish music scene, with notable performances at festivals like Electric Picnic and support slots for bands like The Boomtown Rats.
