David Moore and Westridge are paying tribute to the mighty Led Zeppelin in the best way possible with their latest album, Get The Led Out!
Written by Moor, this album is a love letter to classic rock and funk, with Moore channeling influences from the 60s all the way up. But Get The Led Out! also pays homage to the lives of late bandmates Jim Patterson and Wayne Jarvis.
โPaid My Duesโ kicks the album off with a funky groove with a momentous rhythm section and a nostalgic harmonica solo. Mooreโs vocals are soulful as he sings airily about the unmet emotional needs while selling his soul to the art of paying bills.
The title track of Get The Led Out! is co-written with Chris McConville. It begins with the cutting hum like that of rotor blades taking off that is upturned with a joyous eruption of jangly guitars and pounding drums.
โMagic Womanโ gets things more subdued with a soothing undercurrent. Meanwhile, Moore sings with a hypnotic trail weaving a spell of their own about being spellbound by a womanโs charms.
โFunk Offโ is a stand-out for its funky collusion with a killer guitar line grooving it up with a thumping beat. Moore takes aim at societal ills with catchy lyrics and righteous anger pouring from the backing vocals.
โOpen Your Heartโ closes the album on a high note with a shimmering, danceable track. Mooreโs vocals are thick with emotion soaked and muffled under the reverb. Whereas, the music is a swirling vortex of jangly, upbeat, guitars and a driving beat.
Fans of Led Zeppelin and similar sounds long familiar must listen to this upbeat tribute album Get The Led Out! by David Moore and Westridge.
