Astro-Lloyd are throwing a defiant sonic bash with latest EP, Let’s Get Weird. With a wild ride through punk rock, stoner grunge, prog rock, and even a dash of 80s synth magic, you can get weird and lose yourself in the music.
Comprising the odd ones out of an upcoming album LOUD NOISES, this EP is all about pushing boundaries.
The party kicks off with “Cowboy,” a punky hard-rock anthem that punches you in the face with its distorted guitars and pounding drums. The vocalist belts out anthemic lyrics with raw passion, setting the stage for the genre-bending chaos to come.
Next up is “Dolph,” a track that owes a clear debt to Queens of the Stone Age. The hypnotic, swaggering guitar riff gets hot and dynamic with some seriously heavy drumming. The vocals start low, smoky before exploding into an energetic surge.
If you’re looking for something a little more complex, then “23:19” is your heady and proggy brew. This prog-rock odyssey storm undergoes shimmering and distorted guitar layers and pulsating drums. The vocals are sharp and pointed over the instrumental push-and-pull.
Finally, Astro-Lloyd throws a curveball with “Speedracer – 80’s inspired version.” This stripped-down, synth-infused take on their older song “Speedracer” puts the spotlight on the vocalist’s heartfelt performance. The reverb-drenched vocals weave heartbreak and nostalgia, perfectly complemented by the edgy, ticking beat.
Let’s Get Weird is a genre-bending masterpiece that proves Astro-Lloyd is a band to watch. Stay tuned for their upcoming album.
