Grace by Chucky Trading Co: Review
Chucky Trading Co makes beautiful folk music. Their song ‘Grace’ is filled with soulful acoustic music, and soothing vocals. The song is comprised of the acoustic guitar, bass, drums, mandolin, and a bit of violin too. Surprisingly, there are also portions in the track where an instrument sounding very similar to the triangle is played. It adds a nice touch that compliments the music.
The vocal harmonies are sensational, and when the chorus hits it’s quite emotional and melodic. What I enjoyed most about the track is its ability to maintain various instruments. My favorite part is near the end of the song where dual mandolins are played for a breathtaking interlude. The background vocals are just perfect and sound heavenly. Sure, solos and lead arrangements are cool. But, you know what’s equally important? A fantastic rhythm section, this is because it’ll carry the song forward. Therefore, ‘Grace’ has a remarkable one at that, and it was a delight to hear!
One thing in particular which was awesome, and kinda badass too is how they started the song. An interplay between the drums and guitars with a striking arrangement is truly a way to make the first impression, and greet listeners with an ahem grace. All puns aside, Chucky Trading Co an amazing band hailing from Laurel Canyon sure knows how to set the mood! There is a sense of pain and raw sentiment present in the lyrical theme. And because of its deep message, it’s truly a heartwarming tale to hear from start to finish.
