Harlow’s Monkeys release heartfelt indie number “you don’t have to change if you don’t want to”
Harlow’s Monkeys is an impactful indie rock band whose members met through their participation in the San Francisco Music Scene. Tommy P. on guitars/vocals, Amanda Salguero on bass/vocals, Lucas Sobiel on drums, and Zeke Ketcham on guitars are the band members. The self-produced tune “you don’t have to change if you don’t want to” was recorded with companions. It is the first track from the new EP “When The World For Humans Ends.” It was influenced by surviving 2020 and the global epidemic.
The band contemplated their abstract realities on earth and how, if nothing is done to alter everyone’s engagement with the Earth, exploitation of its supplies, and treatment of one another, extinction may be the greatest option. The bombastic rock song “you don’t have to change if you don’t want to” is about overcoming uncertainty and moving forward. This track is about resisting the contentedness in our lives that are which go against our best interests. This emotionally driven indie number is scheduled for release on January 2, 2023, and is an interesting one to look out for.
Harlow’s Monkeys makes incredibly resonant indie music. My favorite bits from this single were indeed the chorus sections. This is because each instrumentation and effort from the band was felt, and the energy was incredible to witness. There is a definite synergy within the song’s structure. Alternative-style guitars and moving basslines keep the track alive, all that and a heartfelt performance from the singer and you’ve got a nice tune to vibe out to.
