I Want to See You Again by Noelle Toland: Review
Noelle Toland’s second single, “I Want to See You Again,” is a collaboration with Steve Cropper on the guitar to strike up all the right notes. It’s one of four tracks on the EP “The Sun Will Rise”. When I stumbled upon this emotional song, I was washed up with a newly found love for country music. There’s a contemporary flavor in the singer’s creation; the way she fuses soul music with 90s pop is so endearing that you can’t stop listening to her. Her powerful vocals open the song:
“Normally I play hard to get
Something ’bout you I don’t know yet
I’ll take a risk on this maybe romance
Tell you how I feel, I’ll spin the wheel“
Encapsulating the spirit of country music, accompanied by Cropper’s pedal steel guitar riffs and a laid-back percussion beat she expresses sentiments of melancholy, love, and desire over infectious melodies and a beautiful love story. The crescendo and decrescendo are beautifully executed, and the moments of silence used to build suspense are followed by a flood of instruments. The lyrics narrate about two people whose lives collide at the intensity of their feelings as a result. The chorus expresses a desire for what-could-have-beens over vocals that explore country styles, leaving you with a craving for more.
Not only is the Nashville singer/songwriter making a name for herself in the country music industry, but she is also a humanitarian who uses her free time to help charitable organizations.
