Long Hard Rain by Cory M. Coons: Review
Cory M. Coons channels his inner rockstar in his country-fueled track ‘Long Hard Rain’. Gotta tell you, folks, this song has all the elements of a bonafide hit track. Bluesy guitar solo, a voice of wonder, and just a sensational music video all around. I truly enjoyed the interplay of the acoustic guitar as it played riffs on the blues scale and the bass guitar kept the vibration going.
Originally from southern Ontario, Canada, just south of Ottawa, Cory M. Coons is a skilled, independent artist, musician, and composer. More than 170,000 people have listened to Cory’s roots-flavored rock, which is a combination of roots music and Americana.
‘Long Hard Rain’ has an organ playing in the background that adds a soulful buzz to the track. It makes me wonder how great artists such as Coons get their edge. Because listening ‘Long Hard Rain’ made me value musicians even more. Authenticity is still alive folks, and I’m glad that an artist such as Cory M. Coons is maintaining it in an age where everyone needs a splash of awesome music. If anyone were to hear you listen to ‘Long Hard Rain’ they’d say ‘dang man you’ve got great taste’! Indeed that’s correct. The music structure of the song is very rock and roll ish, and has a certain swing to it. The melody in Cory’s vocals is crisp and connects perfectly with all the instruments involved. A classic country rock song, bravo!
