Cylus leans into vulnerability and atmosphere with I want you (this moment) [Extended Edition], a reflective yet electrifying EP that, like a late-night drive, zooms through your own thoughts. Hailing from Minneapolis, the rising electronic artist uses this project as a kind of reset, more about reconnecting with why he started making music in the first place. And honestly, you can hear that intention baked into every synth swell and beat drop.
“I want you (this moment)” sits right at the heart of the EP, and it wastes no time pulling you into its orbit. It opens with an immersive, almost weightless soundscape, as shimmery synth waves drift over a low, pulsing beat that’s like a heartbeat under siege. Then, just as you settle in, the track begins to build. A warm, tender male vocal slips through the layers, like a thought you don’t want to lose.
As the song progresses, things start to hit harder. The bridge introduces a sharper, more urgent synth line that bends and zooms through the mix like neon lights streaking past on a highway. It’s cinematic, like you’re right there in the moment it’s trying to capture. That balance between intimacy and scale is where Cylus really shines.
Then come the alternate versions, and here’s where things get interesting. The “slowed + reverb” take dials everything down into a hazy, almost hypnotic space, as it’s moodier, warmer, and a little more indulgent. On the flip side, the “sped up” version flips the switch entirely, pushing the beats forward into a more euphoric, dancefloor-ready energy.
Meanwhile, the instrumental strips everything back, letting the production breathe. Without vocals, the track feels expansive and cinematic.
All in all, this EP is about feeling present, even if just for a fleeting moment. Check out I want you (this moment) [Extended Edition] by Cylus on Spotify.
