Is a Gateway Drug by The Bare Minimum: Album Review
A fierce arsenal of hard rock, punk, and metal causes an uproar as The Bare Minimum impresses us with their energy-fueled album โIs a Gateway Drugโ. Packed with a powerhouse of emotions, the band runs wild with the distorted tension of the guitar, strong rock vocals, and groovy drum pieces.
Firstly, all the guitar sequences in this 12-track album are such a cathartic experience. When I heard the riff introduction of โParty Martyrโ, my senses were taken a hold of with the shredding technique being personified into a heavy metal typhoon. The vocal prowess on each track incorporates a lot of screams into it, and I admire the singerโs ability to sing at a high pitch. Hearing โWoahโ made me give off the same reaction as the songโs title. This is because the amount of charge and force the band expresses is simply incredible. It is a non-stop moving train of metal with a catchy hook of harmonies and amazing drum work.
Reaching the end of the album with โPart Time Punksโ felt like a nostalgic tribute to old-school Iron Maiden, the heavy metal giants. The riff structure felt like glam rock and the gritty aesthetic of 80s metal. Overall, thereโs so much heart in the track, coming alive from the swiftness of the instrumentation. โIs a Gateway Drugโ by The Bare Minimum is a gripping experience from start to finish. If you are a fan of getting your daily dopamine levels in check with fast-paced metal, then please give the album a listen!
