Meas & Riddie are stepping into the scene with the youthful energy that refuses to stand still. The two brothers are carving out their own approach to electronic music, mixing the familiar punch of old-school 909 sounds with newer synth textures to create something rooted in club culture and ready to move forward. Their debut belter, “Keep T Moving,” wastes little time making its intentions clear: keep the rhythm alive and let the party roll.
The track comes charging in on bustling, thumping beats and relentless percussion, creating a bounding, almost jungly groove. Deep bass gives the production its physical weight, while rustling atmospheric textures swirl around the rhythm and add a sense of movement to the mix. There is a pleasing sense of controlled chaos here, with the track constantly buzzing and bouncing as if the dancefloor itself has become part of the instrumentation.
Adding another layer to the energetic production is a raspy, high vocal refrain that returns throughout the song. The voice works almost like another rhythmic element, repeatedly cutting through the dense electronic backdrop and helping keep the track’s momentum locked in.
What makes “Keep T Moving” particularly effective as a first statement is its straightforward sense of fun. Meas & Riddie are taking sounds they enjoy, throwing old and new influences into the same room and seeing what happens. The lively electronic workout has plenty of bass, bounce and atmosphere. If this is the brothers’ opening move, there’s plenty of room to wonder where they’ll take their sound next.
