Queer singer-songwriter and rapper Cody Draco interprets faith in his way to embrace love and liberate himself in his latest single, “Kiss Me in the Rain.” Also if you notice, this title unerringly pays homage to Lana Del Rey’s iconic hit, “Born to Die,” while adding a unique twist that reflects his personal journey and influences.
Having produced the song all by himself, Draco showcases his versatility and creativity in crafting a distinctive sound that’s all his. Drawing inspiration from artists like Azealia Banks, Kreayshawn, Doja Cat, and Nicki Minaj, he blends elements of hip-hop with immersive ambient music to create a captivating sonic landscape.
“Kiss Me in the Rain” pulsates with hooky hip-hop beats that drive the song forward with an infectious energy. Draco’s rapid-fire delivery adds to the momentum, infusing the track with a cool and catchy vibe. Meanwhile, the shimmering ambient music provides a soothing backdrop, creating a juxtaposition of intensity and tranquility.
One of the standout features of “Kiss Me in the Rain” is the sultry and spiritually gracious female backing vocals touching us with the ethereal and syrupy smooth femininity floating above and enhancing the enchanting atmosphere of the track. Find yourself inundated in the pouring emotions as Draco yearns for love amidst spiritual exploration.
With his debut album, Endless Devotion, released, he is coming up with four subsequent EPs. So stay tuned!
