With โLow High,โ Israeli artist Omer Netzer cranks up the volume and dives straight into the eye of a whirlwind romance. Released on August 1 as the follow-up to his Nashville breakout โMidnight Blue,โ this new track throws the doors wide open on Netzerโs full-blown American country-blues evolution.
Opening with a glimmer of Hammond organ and some laid-back guitar strums, the song sets the stage like a slow burn in a smoky bar. Then Netzerโs raspy, weathered voice slides in low and intimate. The drums come charging in, the percussion starts sparkling like firecrackers, and the entire production spark up into a vibrant, toe-tapping soundscape, nodding to both his Israeli roots and his Nashville rebirth.
The lyrics swing between reckless nights and romantic messy fights, as Netzer sings, โKissing turned to cursing and turned to fighting.โ All of this spices up the thrill of the relationship. By the time he belts the chorus, โI go low, you go high / We land somewhere in the middle,โ itโs impossible not to sing along. And those rich, distant female backing vocals belt away without stealing its thunder.
What makes โLow Highโ really pop, though, is that it feels lived-in. Netzerโs been through wars in Gaza, heartbreak, and reinvention, and you can hear all of it in his voice. Produced by David โMessyโ Mescon, the track hits like a shot of adrenaline. So check it out if you like what you hear.
