Lullaby Time by Dull of Down: Review
Finnish band Dull of Down debuts their most recent effort, a double single named โLullaby Time/Raymond.โ Starting back in 2020, their most recent drop โLullaby Timeโ is smokily immersed within rock n roll compositions that transport its audience to an astronomical realm. Producing an upbeat tune with outstanding guitar work and catchy melodies, drawing from both the alternative rock and hard rock genres, the band gives its listeners their daily dose of sonic mayhem over distorted guitars and chaotic rhythms. Dull of Dawnโs attempt at bringing back the golden era of the โ70s comes to life with this track, while featuring vintage rock, blues, and grunge from the โ90s. With each member bringing their own creativity and inspiration to the table, the band boasts distinctive melodies.
Despite the trackโs reliance on guitars, the lead vocalistโs raspy and metallic singing is the highlight, keeping in command as he gives life to the lyrics in an elevated chorus. Those little moments of harmony complement the assured main rock vocal and truly set it apart. The combination of bass and the rhythm of the guitars are precisely timed, stabbing in a complementary kick while enhancing the trackโs impact. With solid drum work, its versatility is giving of the 90s. The guitar solo is excellent, featuring a clever selection of notes. Towards the end, the chorus comes roaring back for a stinger finish.
The only complaint I got is the short duration of the track. Otherwise, it has the makings of a live music festival hit well-received by rock fanatics.
