Math SOS by Mr. Vale’s Math Class: Review
Holy Mother of Instruments, thou has blessed thee with an exciting jam to vibe with. ‘Math SOS’ is a song that is full of energy, and funky as heck. Starting from the bass guitar to the guitars, drums, to triangles! Man, they’re really taking this math thing far with the tempo eh? Well, doesn’t sound half bad, in fact, it’s genius. Mr. Vale’s Math Class is a band that is full of surprises, ‘cause once you think that they’re settling in on a fixed rhythm, they’re back with a groovy chorus. The band is quite progressive indeed.
The verse sections are accompanied by all the instruments playing at a lower tempo, while the chorus is more uplifting and vocal-orientated. Then there’s the harmonized guitar solo, wow, just wow. Incredible stuff indeed. The band involves trumpets and saxophones in their mix as well. Their genre is blended closely with jazz, but also has its influences from math rock (which is a subgenre of progressive and funk rock). The lead front-man Jordan Vale is a multi-instrumentalist, and also a Math tutor! Now we know where the name’s inspiration comes from, pretty amusing and cool really.
The band’s inspiration behind their music is a positive attribute towards less technology and more involvement with the community. They focus on the aspect of enjoying life with your loved ones, and not take everything so personally. It’s a great initiative within music really! With respect to the musicians, please keep the music flow.
