Midnight Cigarette by JaKovche_: Album Review
It took JaKovche_ a long time to finish his album of 12 tracks, which he began working on in January 2021. Despite its infancy, itโs a great deal because this is an ambient artist from Croatia who debuts here in an unprecedented fashion, with a work that was released on streaming services a few months back and about which Iโll go more in-depth below.
This album, named โMidnight Cigarette,โ has 12 tracks that run for over 45 minutes and a sound that combines indie, alternative, dream pop, and bedroom pop with cinematic elements, lo-fi, over a melodic vocal line. From โWhereโs My Lighter?โ until the concluding track โGood Night,โ I know youโll love the build-up piece by piece. Youโll find that the performance within these numbers tackles many of the challenges and situations the artist faced during their lifetime, especially during the pandemic, and binds them together beautifully with highly rich orchestration. However, if you want to indulge in your own thoughts over a smoke after 2 AM when the world sleeps, just hit play and โMidnight Cigaretteโ will take care of you. ย
As soon as you hear these pieces, you canโt help but fall in love! JaKovche_ will have you intertwined with emotions you havenโt felt in a really long time, as he marks his territory in a mixed state of artistic genres!
