Mountain Song by Sophie Dorsten ft. Alex Dorsten: Review
Sophie Dorsten and her brother Alex channels their inner indie spirit in “Mountain Song”. It’s an acoustic-driven heartwarming pop track where Sophie’s voice echoes through like a breeze on a winter evening. Overall, the track has a sentimental vibe to it. You can feel it through the singing, musical transitions, and minimal percussion.
The entirety of the track is based on acoustic guitar riffs. It’s quite sweet and melancholic, but there’s a certain drive to it that keeps the song’s pacing steady. You could tell the duo really searched deep within to write an ode that will sync with any listener. I truly love listening to the words of the track, thus here’s my favorite portion –
“Melancholy filling up, up my mind
I might drive for a minute
See the sunrise
You’re not by my side in this moonlight
You could be right here
If you were mine”
The combination of these two siblings is delightful. This is because all the instrumentation in the song connected beautifully, and was produced with clarity. There isn’t a part where an instrument overdid it to make the other portions look out of balance. Thus, it’s a wonderful indie mix. “Mountain Song” is very cozy, and perfect to relax at the end of a long day. Just press play and watch the magic of Sophie’s voice, and that crisp acoustic guitar transport you to a dreamy escape pod off to space.
