Move It Up the debut album from Berlin-based soul-pop septet Ingravity, is a delightful musical journey that grooves its way into your heart. Produced by the talented Borris Schwarz, the album draws inspiration from iconic artists like Jamiroquai, Simply Red, and Stevie Wonder.
The opening track, โNothing Is Worrying You No More,โ kicks things off with infectious energy. Blaring trumpets dance with lively drums and guitars, creating an upbeat atmosphere. The vocals soar with enthusiasm, delivering a captivating story. The song is told with an engaging storytelling tone. It is also a story about financial troubles. This gives the dynamic start a relatable touch to get us going with the groove.
As you journey through the album, โBack on the Trackโ introduces a more relaxed melody. The grounding beats build to an anthemic chorus, complemented by cheerful and optimistic vocals.
โStevies Beat,โ the sixth track, pays homage to the legendary Stevie Wonder. The romantic song has a soulful groove that engages listeners. The stereo panning was an excellent addition, with the guitars flowing seamlessly from one ear to another.
The final track, โMiles Away,โ enters sensually and moodily. Sultry vocals, accompanied by female backing vocals, create a soulful ambiance. The guitar solo in the bridge brings the album to a satisfying close. Move It Up really got us vibe-checked with the backing vocals, the flying horn section, the strings section, and the choir.
Having dropped only Nov 29 2023, Each track offers something unique, from energetic storytelling to relaxed anthems and heartfelt homages. Move It Up is a soul-pop extravaganza that lets you savor timeless soulful sounds. Expect more from this talented band soaring from the heart of Berlin.
